Three's Company

E: Well, we are officially not babies anymore. We're three years old - can you believe that? We talk, we walk, we laugh, we cry, we say funny things, we are becoming more alike and more different every day. We are more obedient and more defiant. We are.... growing up. Daddy likes to remind everyone and himself of just how far we've come and just how lucky he and Mama are. Seems like only yesterday.....

A: Enough nostalgia... live in the now.
Mama and murderers row on a special birthday morning.

R: Yeah, yeah, that was a Kodak moment. Let's get busy.

Actually, we had four parties over the busy weekend: Thanksgiving and birthday in St. Clair, Christmas with the Wolters extended family (and some birthday presents), a small birthday party at home with Mama and Daddy, and another Thanksgiving/combo birthday party with Grandpa Smith and our cousin Mason (we all have birthdays within a week or so).

Lots of parties means lots of hours spent on special cakes. Daddy in his Sunday best puts the finishing touches on the first special cake.
Not a bad first effort. Nemo cake!
Blowing out the "fires".
Can't forget to include Addy
E: I am ready to eat Nemo now.
A: I will gladly give up the spotlight, but not my share of the cake spoils.
The deluge of presents begins.

Great Grandpa and Grandma Wolters and their grandchildren and families.
Great Grandpa and Grandma with their great-grandkids... so far. More on the way so we're told.
R: Prepare to be destroyed, Daddy.
Birthday air hockey battle.
A: Great Grandma made all of us sleeping bags. Not just us three, all of us. That's at least 12.
E: The party at home was so great we nearly lost ourselves.

R: Finally, the blog will have a quality writer.
E: I guess the Princess moniker really does fit.

E: I was actually really excited to get my own baby stuff. No really.

R: I'm a Roads Scholar.

Special cake 2 - "Light-a-ning McQueen"

R: Ka-chow

E: Hmm. Tastes like Nemo.

This present was so amazing, even Mason was shocked.... and he wrapped it.

(Note Addison in the background, cleary engrossed in the birthday proceedings)

Alright, who wants more presents?

After all the parties.... life sort of went back to normal.
E: Well ma'am, the good news is, your polyesther dress is likely not flammable. The bad news is, I'm afraid your tiara may be toxic if it melts. Stay away from open flames, curling irons, and microwave ovens.

A: Movie night success hinges heavily on the popcorn. Very heavily.
R: Ever been corrected by someone wearing a vinyl bib? Trust me, I'm right. The sooner you accept it, the sooner I can begin to tell you something else.

E: Word up.

Our monkeys come in bins, not barrels.
