The Great Escape

"Where have you been? Why aren't you checking my blog site more regularly? I change often. Remember the scrawny little guy in the hospital? I ate him."

The twins have passed the 38 week mark and are officially supposed to be here now. Obviously, these twins had other ideas all along. Roman was tired of all the whispers that he was a lightweight and has passed Eden in weight. As of last week, Roman was 6lbs-14ozs and Eden was 6lbs-12ozs. Both are now well past 7lbs. Mommy is starting to realize it might have been a little uncomfortable to have two 7+ pounders in there. As they grow, the aunts and uncles have been pouring in and all but our long-lost St. Clair Uncle Matt's family have finally gotten a peek and a hold. Some friends have made visits and now healthy kids will be allowed - a major relief to a certain 7 year old nephew in Grand Haven. The twins continue to thrive, and continue to make noise, and continue to fill everyday with entertainment......

For starters, Roman is practicing his bedtime prayers - in alpaca.

"Now I lay me down to sleep, please send this food straight to my cheeks.

If I should poop before I wake, I pray that lots of noise I'll make. Amen."

Eden is experimenting with telekinesis. Just outside the frame of the picture, the couch is levitating.

As the rules begin to soften we've had lots more visitors.....

Aunt Bridget thinks maybe she wants twins. Uncle Luke says one at a time is just fine.

Aunt Ang and Uncle Derek, finally both healthy, put an end to their seeming endless wait.

Our friends the Clarks came over with their son, Mason. He is two months older than the twins.

One of these things is not like the others....

Our friend's baby, Elena Nicholson, came from Chicago for a visit. Mind you, she's 2 weeks YOUNGER than the twins.

Eden: "Brace yourself Roman, she might roll over."

We're starting to realize that our twins have already begun to work together against us.

R: "Listen, I'm getting sick of being cooped up in the house all of the time. If we put our heads together, maybe we can figure out a way to get out of this place."

R: "Ok, so here's the plan. I'll soil this luxurious tapestry we're laying on and then work up some unicorn neighs. That should distract mommy long enough for you to fashion a rope out of the blankets, toss if over the side, climb out of the pack-n-play and unlock the front door.

E: "Oooh. That might just work. I see you've already begun to execute the plan."

"Luckily, in our jumpsuits, we blend in with all the other inmates."

E: "Wait, what's going on? Where are we? Did you fall asleep in the middle of the floor? Oh, I guess I did too. Foiled again."

R: "Drat. I think mom is putting tryptophan in the milk. That or we both are plagued with narcolepsy. Next time, I guess."

Hi Daddy Ross,

This is great-aunt Debe', "Where are some new pictures"? It has been a highlight of my week, looking to see if there are any new pictures. Kidding aside, I really enjoyed by visit. The "babies" are so cute!!!!!!! Hope things went well after you got home from your skiing trip. Keeping babies awake can be a real chore. Say hi to the new "Mom", and look forward to my next trip.
